Day 46- Results from Aguiar and Husted Combine

***Check my Archived Specialists Path Blogs on YouTube

Louie Aguiar and Michael Husted's PRO Camp started last Saturday and concluded yesterday. The camp is for five days and I am extremely pleased with my performance.

On December 4th I started Coach Renner's Training Program and in a little more than 100 days I was able to compete with some of the best kickers in the world.

After the camp was over I had a good sense of where I am at as a kicker. My kickoffs were very solid throughout the week with my average being approximately 3 yards deep in the endzone with a 4 second hang time.

My field goals were solid all week except for a little struggle on Sunday's charting. I came back on Monday though and made 9 of 10 field goals and had a solid last day of the combine.

Like I always tell my kicking students, it is a great idea to get in front of other people and compete. I learned who the talented free agent kickers are and where I stood against them. There is a difference between kicking by yourself and kicking under pressure.

Being a professional kicker is more than just hang times and distances. It is about knowing your craft of kicking and being mentally prepared for every situation possible. This is why it can sometimes take kickers three years out of college before they are ready for PRO football.

The next stage of my Specialists Path is to continue training for PRO football but to start consulting with more kickers and punters in Tennessee. My goal in life is to be in the game of kicking and I believe that this process of training for PRO football as a kicker has made me a better coach and a stronger person.
