On Sunday and Monday Jeff Sexton (Christian Brothers High School) received some One on One Instruction. Jeff was the starting field goal kicker at Christian Brothers last year and is now going to be kicking at Virginia Military Institute (VMI).
Jeff was like most of the guys that I have worked with as he had a tendency to crunch like in the picture (above). I really worked with him on keeping his chest up and kicking down the field. He was a little uncomfortable at first but he started to see the difference in the change by the end of the day.
The next day Jeff was on the field at 7:45 AM for an 8 o'clock lesson and was ready to go! He made vast improvements on the field goals and he said that watching the video helped him visualize some of the things I was explaining to him. We worked on some kickoffs at the end of the lesson and he was really starting to kick them with much more hang time and distance.It was a pleasure working with Jeff and I will be anxiously looking on Saturdays to see how he progresses in college. He now is on the right track to kick as a Freshman and I wish him the best of luck in his career at VMI.
