Ethan Ingham (Tennessee)

On Tuesday Ethan Ingham (Tennessee) received a follow up lesson on his kickoffs. Ethan worked with me on his field goal kicking before Spring Practice and now wanted to improve his kickoffs before fall camp. After working with me in the Spring he put together a solid Spring Practice, which concluded with kicking two field goals in the Tennessee Spring Game including a 44 yard field goal!

Ethan has always had a big leg but kickoffs require much more than just a big leg. I worked with him on sharpening up his technique. He was coming at the ball a little bit fast and as you can see in the picture (above) it is important to keep the chest up upon contact with the ball.

By the end of the day he was kicking off much better. In the picture (below) you can see him making great contact with the ball and he has his chest up much better upon impact.

I was impressed with Ethan and his willingness to learn. I am confident he will continue to work on what we went over and will keep improving on his kickoffs. I want to wish him the best of luck in pursuing his dream of being the starting kicker at Tennessee.
